NOTE:  6/12/2014 August Davis is living near Samuel Mott in the 1820 Census and near Phebe Mott in the 1830 Census in Washington, Dutchess, NY.

Jacob Session appears on the same census page for Daniel Smith in 1820 and Phebe Smith in 1830. (handwriting makes double s look like lower case f)

1820 Federal Census

I looked at the 1820 Federal Census to see if I could identify families for Lewis and Phebe. It was easy to find Phebe's because I know her father. The census information reads:

Samuel Mott
* 1 male 10-15 (Edwin)
* 1 male 16-25 (?)
* 1 male 45+ (Samuel)
* 1 female 10-15 (Phebe Ann)
* 2 females 16-25 (Elizabeth and Martha)
* 1 female 45+ (Phebe)

There were several Smith names. Two of them have a male the right age for Lewis, which would be between the age of 10-15.

Daniel Smith:
* 1 male 10-15; 1 male 45+
* 1 female 10-15; 1 female 16-25; 1 female 26-45

E.M. Smith:
* 1 male 10-15; 1 male 26-45
* 3 females under 10; 1 female 26-45

Joseph Smith:
* 1 male <10; 1 male 26-45
* 3 females under 10; 1 female 26-45

Hannah Smith:
* 1 female <10; 1 female 26-45

Isaac Smith:
* 1 male <10; 1 male 16-18; 3 males 16-25; 1 male 45+
* 2 females <20; 2 females 10-15; 3 female 16-18; 2 females 26-45
